Situated on 35 hectares of vineyard, the Champagne House of Bauchet Père et Fils founded in 1920 passionately cultivates and sells over 300,000 bottles of Champagne a year, with a continual eye on quality.
Traditional
looking, with an original silver foil wrap and label.
Appearance :
- Pale
gold with slight green glints
- Bright
- Fine perlage
- Elegant bead of bubbles
Nose :
- Both sophisticated
and enveloping, with finesse and elegance, characteristic of Chardonnay,
the sole vine of the Cuvée, obtained by carefully selecting plots of old
vines (over 30 years old) in the great terroir classed as Premier
Cru with 65% from Bisseuil in the Marne Valley with 35% from Grauves
in the Côte des Blancs
- Generous
complexity, the result of perfect workmanship in the art of blending the
base wines before bottling, with aromas of citrus fruits, quince, apricot,
peach, raisin, white flowers and pear and apple compote
- Good maturity with scents of butter, caramel, cocoa, cinnamon, gently roasted coffee, obtained by patiently ageing the bottles sur lattes (6 years)
Palate :
- Subtle
balance of liveliness and smoothness, steadily replaced by a complex and
gentle roundness, an expression of the meticulous selection of free run
wines at the grape pressing (Cuvée) and a balanced dosage, with 8g/L added
at disgorgement
- Smooth
and creamy effervescence
- Deliciously
acidulous finish, together with hints of hazelnut and toasted almond
- Remarkable length on the palate
With this Cuvée Saint-Nicaise Blanc de Blancs Brut 1er Cru 2005, Bruno Charlemagne, Chef de Cave of the Champagne House of Bauchet Père et Fils, has given life to a particularly interesting interpretation of the 2005 harvest, very much in favour of the Chardonnay.
Drink as an
aperitif or during a meal with a tomato and goat’s cheese salad sprinkled with
basil.
