Champagne Deutz - Amour de Deutz 2006

Guide VERON des Champagnes 2017

(around 146 euros per bottle)
Mythical Champagne
Great Cuvées of Champagne Tasting Selection

Sober and bright bottle, with a jewel cap especially created for Amour de Deutz by Pascal Morabito.

Aspect:

White gold, crystal clear.

Remarkably fine bubbles.

Refined corolla of bubbles.

Nose:

Sensual moment of grace, fragile et improbable.

Well defined maturity, with some gentle toasted and roasted touches, evolving towards cocoa, result of the eight long years at constant temperature (11°C), in the deep cellars of the House (65 metres).

Later, the Chardonnay, exclusive varietal, mainly from the Grands Crus of Avize and Le Mesnil-sur-Oger, harvested by hand at full ripeness, establishes itself with elegance on scents of citrus fruits, apple, pear and exotic fruits, punctuated by delicate iodized and mentholated breath.

Palate:

Opening with an unrivalled purity, thanks to the selection of the first juices (cuvée) during the pressing of the grapes, lengthily clarified during the decantation (24 hours at 11°C).

The heady minerality leads to a sensual softness, highlighted by the creamy effervescence.

Caressing finish.

Endless length on the palate.

With this cuvée Amour de Deutz 2006, Michel Davesne, cellar master of the Champagne House Deutz, offers us a fascinating Champagne, essential reference, unforgettable.

Ideal to accompany your intimate moments, or during meals, with scallops and abalones, for example.
