Champagne Boizel - Rosé

Guide VERON des Champagnes 2019

(around 36 euros per bottle)

Sober and refined bottle.

Aspect:

Robe bright, delicately copper-coloured.

Fine and festive bubbles.

Fine and regular bead of foam, persistent after service of the flute.

Nose:

Joyful and endless aromatic harmony.

The aromas of red and black fruits (blackcurrant, raspberry, strawberry, blueberry and blackberry), signatures of the black varietals (50% of Pinot Noir, of which 8% produced as red wine, and 30% of Meunier), immediately establish themselves, radiant.

Later, the Chardonnay (20%) is revealed, elegant, with outstanding touches of apple, pear, citrus fruits, peach and mango.

Palate:

Vertiginous purity at the opening, reinforced by the rigorous selection of the first juices (cuvée) during the soft pressing of the grapes.

The mineral vitality, seduction of the chalk, takes us into an ample and warm caress, definitely underlined by the accurate dosage with 8 g/L of sugar added at disgorgement.

We find again in the finish the red fruits already perceived at the nose, driven by a spark of delicious spices.

Great length on the palate.

With this Rosé aged for three years in the deep cellars of the house, Christophe Roques-Boizel, cellar master of the Champagne house Boizel, offers us a pure and generous delicacy, result of the radiant blending of red wine and white wine, varietals, vintages (20% of reserve wines) and chosen terroirs.

To taste from aperitif to meal, why not with a with a cheesecake and red fruits, for example.
