Aspect: Sensual colour, driven by ruby
red glints. Delicate bubbles. Nose: Heady aromatic waltz. The Pinot Noir (67%) mainly chosen in Aÿ
and Verzenay mingle with Chardonnay (33%) mostly from Oiry and Le
Mesnil-sur-Oger, between fragrances of jammy red and black fruits, subtle
spices and nice ripe citrus fruits. |
Palate: Bright minerality and delicacy, highlighted by the vinification of the
base wines in oak barrels. Absolute maturity obtained by 8 years of ageing on laths of the
bottles with corks, before manual disgorgement on the spot. For this unforgettable cuvée
La Grande Année Rosé 2012, Gilles Descôtes, cellar master of the
Champagne house Bollinger, demonstrates his perfect mastery of the blending
with 21 Crus and 5% of red wine from the mythical plot « La Côte aux
Enfants » in Aÿ. |
