Champagne Taittinger - Prestige Rosé

Guide VERON des Champagnes 2019

(around 52 euros per bottle)

Refined presentation.

Aspect:

Bright colour, barely salmon-pink, translation of the union of 85% of white base wines and 15% of red wine obtained by long maceration in Burgundian style (9 days) of the Pinot Noir grapes chosen in the Mountain of Reims and Les Riceys.

Very fine bubbles.

Delicate bead of foam, regular.

Nose:

Outstanding and harmonious seduction, driven by a lively mentholated breath.

The aromas of nice ripe red and black fruits of the black varietals (50% of Pinot Noir and 20% of Meunier), highlighted by subtle spices, gently interlace the graceful scents of citrus fruits, apple and pear, punctuated by touches of exotic fruits, expressions of the Chardonnay (30%).

Palate:

Splendid opening, enhanced by the joyful mineral tension, characteristic sign of the noble terroirs of origin of the grapes.

The vitality becomes sensual and generous, reinforced by the judicious fulfilment of the malolactic fermentation of the base wines and by the dosage, with 9 g/L of sugar added at disgorgement.

Dense finish, tasty, supported by a soft structure and a delicious bitterness.

Tremendous length on the palate.

With this Prestige Rosé, Loïc Dupont, cellar master of the Champagne house Taittinger, orchestrates with talent the meeting of vintages, terroirs, varietals and wines, respecting tradition of champenois blending, to establish with elegance the Taittinger signature.

Ideal to accompany your intimate moments, with an acidulous shortbread tart, strawberry, rhubarb and Sichuan pepper, for example.

Fiercely attached to champenois values, Pierre-Emmanuel Taittinger, his daughter Vitalie, artistic director and muse of the brand and his elder son Clovis, export director, have been perpetuating with daring the inimitable style of the house. Thanks to the 288 hectares vineyard, cultivated in the greatest respect of the environment, without using herbicides, the Champagne house Taittinger crafts rare champagnes, variations inspired around great terroirs of Chardonnay.
