Champagne Alexandre Le Brun - Cuvée Dilection Rosé 2009 Extra Brut

Guide VERON des Champagnes 2017

(around 49 euros per bottle)

The name is evocative of pure love. Bottle with generous forms. Cork held by the traditional hemp string wire.
Aspect:

Amber and bright.

Fine bubbles.

Elegant bead of foam.

Nose:

Voluptuous harmony of endless scents.

Aromas of red and black fruits decorated with heady spirituous notes punctuated by subtle spices, signatures of the Pinot Noir and Meunier.

The nose opens up with a delicately woody breath, obtained by the vinification and the ageing of the base wines in oak barrels of French origin, enhanced by gourmet fragrances of chocolate and roasted coffee, expressions of the great maturity of the cuvée obtained by 6 years of ageing on laths of the bottles.

Palate:

Dense and lively opening, thanks to the selection of the best grapes from the oldest plots of Chouilly (Grand Cru of the Côte des Blancs) and Monthelon.

The mouth becomes sensual, supported by hints of citrus fruits and white fruits due to the Chardonnay, coupled with exotic fruits obtained by the slow alcoholic fermentation of the base wines made at very low temperature by natural yeasts from the terroir.

Great length on the palate.
With this restricted Cuvée Dilection Rosé 2009 Extra Brut (2,000 bottles), Alexandre Le Brun was able to compose a touching blended rosé (85% of white wine and 15% of red wine), source of intense pleasure.
To taste during meal, to accompany a braised sweetbread with old Banyuls, for example.
Settled in Monthelon since 1750, Alexandre Le Brun, ninth generation of wine growers, cultivates with passion its vineyard of 3 hectares of old vines (over 40 years old) planted with the 3 champenois varietals, with a real desire to reduce the environmental footprint to perpetuate the family traditions. A resolutely creative oenology in the service of ancestral expertises gives birth to an original range based on exceptional Champagnes.
