Aspect:
Dense gold.
Refined bubbles.
Fine cordon of effervescence.
Nose:
Radiant and sensual, source of rare emotions.
Vertiginous fullness with aromas of gingerbread, cocoa and roasted
coffee, sometimes punctuated by a touch of kirsch, result of the long ageing on
laths of the bottles with patient autolysis of the prise de mousse yeasts.
Later, the Chardonnay, exclusive varietal, is unveiled with reserved
fragrances of apple, pear, apricot and grape.
Palate:
Life-giving attack, reinforced by the accurate dosage with only 5 g/L of
sugar added at disgorgement, highlighted by a radiant minerality, the one of
the chalk of the old plots of vine (more than 50 years old) of the Grands Crus
of the Côte des Blancs (Avize, Chouilly, Cramant and Le Mesnil-sur-Oger).
Sensual caress, deliciously iodized.
Finish with a great vital force.
Endless length on the palate.
With this cuvée V.M.H.J.P.L.I
Vintage 2008 Blanc de Blancs Grand Cru Extra Brut, of which the original name
is composed of the gathered first name initials of all family members, François
Larmandier and Jean-Philippe Waris, its producers, offer us a heady interpretation
of the beautiful year 2008.
To taste as an aperitif but especially during meals among friends, with
a monkfish fillet, Joinville sauce and lime confit, for example.
Founded in Avize in 1989 and directed by Marie-Hélène Waris since 2000,
the Champagne House Waris-Larmandier claims its values and its sense of welcome
in its cottage « Le nid de mes anges ». Under the leadership of her children
Jean-Philippe, Pierre-Louis and Inès, sixth generation, wine growers and
artists, a new philosophy became necessary. The 5 hectares vineyard is now
cultivated according to the biodynamy principles, in osmosis with nature and terroirs, to compose the exceptional
Champagnes of the Fine Artistic Wine collection.
