Champagne Louis Massing - Cuvée Velours - Extra Dry Rosé Premier Cru

Guide VERON des Champagnes 2018
(around 20 euros per bottle)

Original and harmonious bottle.

Aspect:

Rose-coloured, dense and lively.

Refined bubbles.

Gleaming and bright.

Nose:

Sensual and radiant aromas.

Initially dominated by joyful fragrances of red and black fruits, touching expressions of the majority of Pinot Noir (60% of the white base wine and 100% of the red wine).

Later, the Chardonnay (40% of the white base wine) is unveiled, initially shy, and then more assured with elegant touches of white fruits and exotic fruits, underlined by a delicate scent of honey, translations of the maturity of the Champagne obtained by 36 months of ageing on laths of the bottles before disgorgement.

Palate:

Sensual opening, improbable balance between liveliness and silky roundness, characteristic sign of the generous dosage with 17 g/L of sugar added at disgorgement.

We find again the festive fruity notes perceived at the nose, driven by the lively effervescence.

Interminable finish, deliciously acidulous.

Great length on the palate.
For this Cuvée Velours - Extra Dry Rosé Premier Cru from the terroirs of Cumières, Chamery and Villeneuve-Renneville, Jean-Bernard Moroy, producer and cellar master of the Champagne House Louis Massing, was able to find the perfect blending of the white wine and red wine (12%, obtained by traditional red wine production with the Pinot Noir chosen in a plot of Villeneuve-Renneville) to offer us a touching blended Champagne rosé.
Ideal to accompany your desserts, with a red fruits tiramisu in glass jars, for example.

Settled in Avize, in the heart of the Côte des Blancs, the Champagne House Louis Massing, directed by Estelle Moroy, born Deregard, and her husband Jean-Bernard, now assisted by their son Julien, has been perpetuating the family traditions since 1922. Grapes rigorously selected in the 12 hectares vineyard of the House, but also in vineyards of wine growing partners, allow the production of around 300,000 bottles per year of a range inspired by highly expressive Champagnes.
