Champagne Edouard Brun et Cie - Blanc de Blancs Premier Cru

Radiant and elegant bottle of white glass.

Aspect:

Pale gold, crystal-clear.

Fine and festive bubbles.

Fine bead of foam, persistent.

Nose:

Harmonious and sensual.

The heady elegance of the Chardonnay, exclusive varietal of the Champagne House, takes us into fragrances of apple, pear and citrus fruits, and notes of white flowers, almond and hazelnut, highlighted by a mentholated touch.

Later, scents of honey barely grilled reveal the maturity of the cuvée obtained by 3 years of patient ageing on laths of the bottles before disgorgement, with autolysis of the prise de mousse yeasts.

Palate:

Seductive intensity at the opening, obtained by the rigorous selection of the best juices (cuvée) during the soft pressing of the grapes on the 50 years old press renewed in 2001.

Later, the mouth becomes caressing, warm and deep, thanks to the fulfilment of the malolactic fermentation of the base wines and to the 9 g/L of sugar added during the dosage.

Acidulous and deliciously bitter finish, driven by a graceful minerality.

Remarkable length on the palate.

Philippe Delescot, cellar master of the Champagne House Edouard Brun et Cie, was able to compose the inspired blending of the Chardonnay partly harvested by hand in 2011, but mainly in 2012, in the noble terroirs of the Côte des Blancs, of the Mountain of Reims and of the great Marne Valley, to offer us this touching and generous Blanc de Blancs Premier Cru.

To taste from aperitif to meal, with a turbot, vegetables and citrus fruits, for example.

Now directed by Emmanuel and Philippe Delescot, the Champagne House Edouard Brun et Cie has been perpetuating the family champenois traditions since 1898. A vineyard of 9.5 hectares, mainly established in the Grands Crus and the Premiers Crus of the Mountain of Reims, and a gentle and accurate œnology, with vinification and ageing of a great part of the base wines in barrels and in casks, allow to produce around 200,000 bottles per year of radiant Champagnes.
