Elegant and luxurious
presentation.
Aspect:
Golden and
crystal-clear.
Refined bubbles.
Subtle corolla of foam,
persistent.
Nose:
Generous and sensual,
source of intense pleasure.
Aromas of red and black
fruits (strawberry, cherry, raspberry, blackcurrant, blueberry and blackberry)
driven by notes of white fruits (citrus fruits, apple, pear and vine peach),
almond and hazelnut, touching signatures of the Meunier, exclusive varietal of
the Champagne, harvested by hand in 2013.
Later, the nose reveals
gentle fragrances of pastry cream, honey and caramel, punctuated by touches of
chocolate and roasted coffee, expressions of the maturity of the cuvée, result of the slow autolysis of
the natural prise de mousse yeasts
before riddling and disgorgement.
Palate:
Lively opening,
supported by a tasty minerality.
The mouth becomes a
creamy caress, deep and dense, presque structurée, reinforced by the judicious
fulfilment of the malolactic fermentation of the base wines.
We find again apple and
pear already perceived at the nose, underlined by the creamy effervescence.
Melting finish,
deliciously acidulous.
Great length on the
palate.
For this cuvée Vieilles vignes - Blanc de Noirs
Brut Premier Cru, Damien Augé, œnologist and wine grower, was able to select
his best grapes in old plots of vine (over 40 years old), to offer us an
inspired interpretation of the Meunier.
To taste as an aperitif,
but also during meals among friends, with a roast duck, mangos and spices, for
example.
From a long line of wine
growers, Damien Augé, œnologist by training, has been perpetuating the family champenois traditions since 2004. He
cultivates with care his vineyard of 8.5 hectares, mainly planted with Meunier
(88%), with the real desire to reduce the environmental footprint, to offer us
each year around 60,000 bottles of a range of Champagnes with personality,
marketed under the brand founded in 1947.
